My 17th birthday party falls around Christmas, and this year I would really like to do a “Nightmare Before Christmas Theme” but I’m having trouble coming up with ideas for activities and games. Obviously, we will watch the Nightmare Before Christmas, but we need some fun games to go along with it!

Many of the most popular movies of all time are remakes (Ben Hur, Titanic, The Magnificent Seven, Robin Hood) so we know it can be done well, and there is nothing wrong with the idea in principle.  It can be done badly though – for every 3:10 to Yuma there is a Halloween II.  Sometimes the film-maker is tempted to mess around with the story, to put his stamp on it, and they end up ruining it – Tim Burton for example, changed the ending of Planet of the Apes, leaving out the iconic Statue of Liberty scene, and replacing it with one that makes no sense at all.  The recent remake of The Wicker Man left out the actual wicker man – a decision so unpopular they had to refilm it to put it back in for the DVD release.

Heres a virtual movie of Father Christmas (Santa Claus) reading the poem by Clement Clarke Moore (1779 – 1863) “Twas the Night Before Christmas” The poem is read definitively by Ernest Hare, and was recorded by Thomas Edison 1920 You can see Clement Clarke Moore reading this poem himself at my main youtube channel poetryanimations at this link.. uk.youtube.com Clement Clarke Moore (July 15, 1779July 10, 1863) is the credited author of A Visit from St. Nicholas (more commonly known today as Twas the Night Before Christmas). Clement Clarke Moore was most famous in his own day as a professor of Oriental and Greek literature at Columbia College (now Columbia University). Clement Clarke Moore (1779 – 1863) wrote the poem Twas the night before Christmas also called A Visit from St. Nicholas” in 1822. It is now the tradition in many American families to read the poem every Christmas Eve. The poem Twas the night before Christmas has redefined our image of Christmas and Santa Claus. Prior to the creation of the story of Twas the night before Christmas St. Nicholas, the patron saint of children, had never been associated with a sleigh or reindeers! The author of the poem Twas the night before Christmas was a reticent man and it is believed that a family friend, Miss H. Butler, sent a copy of the poem to the New York Sentinel who published the poem. The condition of publication was that the author of Twas the night before Christmas was to remain anonymous. The first publication date

Is this true? And if you know more about it, how much??

PLEASE READ: It’s not what it seems! what you are viewing is a COMPLETE recreation of Tim Burton’s poem, “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, Featured on DVD. Over 70 hours of collaborated effort went in to the making of this production. With the exception of the animation, the ENTIRE video was created from the “ground up”. Using Danny Elfman’s original soundtrack for the film, I rearranged and synced the music to fit the scenes, appropriately. Assembling the soundtrack correctly was imperative in order to capture the “feel” and the mood of the story. Unfortunately, there just wasn’t a karaoke track available for this ambitious project. :) Once the soundtrack was in place, I was then able to add my vocals, reciting Tim Burton’s original poem. If you don’t recognize my voice – GOOD! My intent was to sound like an older, wiser narrater from “another place”, fabricated by MY imagination. With the musical score and preliminary narration in tact, I was able to send off my “rough draft” to my friend, Jeff Kelly for sound design. Jeff searched endlessly for sound bites that would perfectly compliment the events that took place in this video. He gathered sounds from his extensive sound data base, movies and even created his own sounds using household appliances…..and even his wallet! His effort was definitely appreciated as it was paramount in bringing this story to life! Finally, I re-did my narration once again and mixed all of the necessary elements to complete our production
